Unlock With WiFi FREE 1.0.7 Free Download
Shareware: You can try this program, but this version has some limited features or time usage restrictions. You should purchase it in order to remove those limits.
Mobile phones are often sold on contract and are bonded to the networks which sold them. This means you can only use the phone on that network but with Unlock With WiFi Free, you can remove this network restriction easily.
The process is simple and you can use Unlock With WiFi Free, on any kind of mobile phone and with any network. When you unlock your phone there will be no need to use a password or a PIN to get to access the home menu and to make calls.
When you are within range of your home network, connect the phone to the WiFi network and the codes to unlock it will be sent automatically. Unlock With WiFi Free will lock the phone again when you move out of the network, so you will have to enter the password once you leave home and are out of network range.
Unlock with WiFi unlocks your phone when you're connected to your home WiFi!
WARNING: This app doesn't work on some phones. Please read this description carefully, and the FAQ.
Unlock With WiFi unlocks your phone when you're connected to your home WiFi network. What does "unlock" mean? It means you don't have to enter your password/pattern/PIN when you turn on your phone. When you're at home, or work, you don't need to worry about losing your phone, so why should you have to enter your password?
How does it work?
When you get home and connect to your WiFi network, your device will unlock. Then when you leave, and the WiFi disconnects, the device will lock again. You have to enter your password the first time after you connect to your WiFi network. This is so that if someone steals or finds your phone, they can't just bring it to your house to unlock it. After you enter your password once while connected to your WiFi network, you won't have to enter it again until you leave/disconnect. This is great for SMS texting!
What else does it do?
The following features are disabled in the free version, but in the full version, you can set a lock delay, for when you're not at home. The default delay is set to 5 seconds (you can adjust it), so when you turn the screen off, the device won't lock until 5 seconds have passed. That way, if you remember something you forgot to do, you can turn it back on without entering your password.
There are also battery saving options to:
Turn off WiFi when you leave home
Turn on GPS when you leave home*
Turn off GPS when you get home*
* This feature is not guaranteed to work on all devices. Android normally doesnt allow apps to turn the GPS on/off, but UWW uses a hack that works on some devices.
Works on tablets too!
Free vs Full
The free version allows you to define one home WiFi network, while the full version allows you to define unlimited home networks. You could use it home, work, etc. The full version has all the options enabled, like lock delay. Users of the full version are also entitled to email support.
NEW! Many Motorola phones come with a built in task killer app that interferes with UWW. If you have a Motorola phone, make sure that UWW is either excluded from the auto-kill list, or included in the don't-kill list. If you don't have a Motorola phone, but you do use a task killer app, make sure to exclude UWW as well.
This app won't work if your employer enforces a password policy on your phone. Many corporate Exchange email users have this.
Unlock With WiFi is incompatible with Juice Defender, Green Power, BatteryFu and other apps. See the FAQ.
Unlock With WiFi doesn't work on the Samsung Fascinate if it's been upgraded to Android 2.2 (stock Samsung ROM).
